Vehicles are not allowed in the centre of town unless they have a special permit. When you arrive in Cesky Krumlov, enter the town centre via Objizdkova and Horni street, look for the "Infocentrum" on the right side of the main Svornosti square and park in front of the adjacent Grand Hotel. You can show the town policemen the reservation receipt that you will receive by e-mail. Put the reservation receipt on top of your dashboard so the police will not give you a ticket while on the way to and from the reception office. The castle was built at the turn of the 19th century and has been the estate of a German industrial family. It is situated outside the village of Kaplice and 10 kilometers from the Czech-Austrian border. It is an impressive spot in the middle of the unspoiled Bohemian woodlands. An oasis of silence but within a short distance of the well-trodden trails of the tourist hotspots of the Czech Republic in South Bohemia. It is an area with pristine forests and gentle rolling hills, habitat to deer and wild boars. Squirrels are having a field day in the hotel yard.
